A MAN died on Friday night after his car crashed at an Ipswich superstore.
The incident happened around 9pm near the exit of the Asda supermarket in Stoke Park Drive.
Police confirmed around an hour later that a man had died in the incident.
They said the car collided with another vehicle but that the circumstances surrounding how he came to die are still being investigated.
Andy Payne, who lives nearby, described the scene as “manic” with up to five police cars and two fire engines present.
Mr Payne said he had not heard a collision but reported seeing a red car with a blue tarpaulin cover over it.
He said the car, a red Toyota, was left up on a kerb, with part of its bumper missing.
Paramedics said they treated a woman - believed to be the driver of the other vehicle - for minor injuries and another person for a “spinal complaint”.
The car park and Stoke Park Drive were sealed off while emergency services got to work.
Specialist crash investigators later arrived to begin piecing together precisely what happened.
A spokesman for Suffolk Constabulary said: “The circumstances behind the incident are still being investigated.”
