EDDIE Maher’s partner Deborah Brett has returned to England ahead of an immigration hearing seeking to throw her out of the United States.
Ms Brett had been living in Ozark, Missouri, with the former Securicor guard who is accused of stealing nearly 1.2m from outside of Lloyds Bank in Felixstowe during a cash delivery run in January 1993.
Maher, 57, was extradited back to Britain last month and is due before Ipswich Crown Court next Friday.
Ms Brett and their sons Lee and Mark remained in the US, but the country’s immigration authorities had started proceedings to remove Ms Brett and Lee. A hearing had previously been scheduled for today in Kansas City.
However, sources in the US have said Ms Brett, who has family in the Nottingham area, returned to the UK earlier this week. Lee, 23, remains in America where he is serving a jail sentence for failure to pay child support. It is unclear if Mark, who is in his mid teens and was born in America, has returned to the UK.
