A MAN was cut free from a car this morning after his vehicle collided with a lorry on the A14.
Emergency services were scrambled to the A14 westbound between junction 52 for Claydon and junction 51 for Needham Market after an accident involving an HGV lorry and a Toyota Avensis just after 7.45am.
A Suffolk police spokeswoman said: “The car had gone into the central reservation about 200m past the Claydon junction.
“The man was conscious and breathing and didn’t have any visible injury.”
The casualty was treated for neck and shoulder pains by a medic at the scene while firefighters removed the car’s roof as a precautionary measure.
He was taken to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance for minor injuries which were not life-threatening or changing.
The carriageway was cleared by 9.40am.
One lane was also blocked on the westbound carriageway between junctions 57 and 56 on the Orwell Bridge due to a broken down car but has now fully reopened.
