JACK Housden’s goal was enough to see Great Cornard Middle School crowned Under-13 Small Schools Trophy winners at Portman Road this afternoon.

The pacy striker scored at the second attempt after Seaton Burn goalkeeper Matthew Parker parried his first effort at goal.

The strike sent the majority of the 587 school children, parents and teachers into ecstasy and gave Cornard a deserved first-half lead.

Seaton Burn had the better of the second half but some stout defending was enough to see the Suffolk side crowned champions.
