JASON Scotland has insisted his second half equaliser in this afternoon’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace was the least Ipswich Town deserved.
The Blues striker hit a cracker to earn Ipswich a point on their travels after Town had gone in at the break one down following Chris Martin’s opener.
But Scotland said: “I thought we deserved the three points. We started off well for the first half an hour with a few shots on target. We were disappointed to go in 1-0 down.
“I think we dominated the first and second half but that is how the game goes. We haven’t played well in the second half recently but credit the boys – we did well to come back.”
Scotland scored his eight of the season when he cut inside Palace right-back Nathaniel Clyne and hit a fantastic strike with his right foot.
He explained: “Having a shot wasn’t on my mind when I got the ball but the guy (Clyne) cut off the line and showed me the inside so that’s what I did.
“I came inside and no one confronted me so I thought why not have a shot? It was on my right foot, I just went for goal, it was a good strike and it went in.”
