Bushes and undergrowth were found alight and branches had to be cut to stop the flames.
The undergrowth fire in Turin Street was discovered at 5.51pm and was attended by a team of firefighters from the Princes Street station.
Branches were cut away and the bushes and plants dampened down to extinguish the flames.
The fire was fully extinguished by 6.06pm.
