A MAN killed in a road crash in west Suffolk has today been named by police as they send out a fresh appeal for witnesses.
The victim, formally identified as 75-year-old Frederick Collins from Great Cornard, was struck by a lorry on Market Hill, Sudbury, at 1.30pm on Tuesday.
Police and paramedics rushed to the incident but they found the pedestrian had died at the scene, and shut off a section of Market Hill for about five hours while forensic investigators searched the area.
The 49-year-old lorry driver was not hurt in the incident.
Officers from the serious collision investigation team are calling on witnesses to come forward by calling 01473 613500.
