PAUL Jewell has knocked down reports that he is interested in signing Coventry City striker Marlon King on loan.
Town manager Paul Jewell IS on the look-out for a loan player before this Saturday’s trip to Leeds United, but he is targeting a central midfielder rather than a striker.
Jewell said: “It’s not true that I have made an enquiry about Marlon King.
“I did try to sign him while I was the manager at Derby, but I haven’t made an enquiry to Coventry or to his agent. It’s not true,” added Jewell.
King, 30, has played for the likes of Gillingham, Nottingham Forest, Watford and Wigan during his career, and is currently playing under former Colchester United manager Aidy Boothroyd at Coventry.
