Ipswich Town are looking to open Portman Road for a public training session and a meet-the-players day.

This is something that proved successful when Jim Magilton was manager and new boss Paul Jewell wants to adopt the idea to enhance relationships between the club and their fans.

Because of health and safety issues that have evolved in recent weeks, Town supporters will no longer be able to gain access to the Ipswich training ground to watch training sessions.

This decision was made after a recent review of safety issues following a couple of incidents that caused concern.

Access will still be available for any official reserve and youth games played at Playford Road.
