Traffic is flowing normally on the A14 after an earlier accident involving three cars was cleared.

The incident took place shortly before 5.50pm on the westbound carriageway at Seven Hills and caused major problems during rush-hour traffic,

A police spokesman said that a car had gone into the back of a lorry and “was underneath the lorry”.

An earlier vehicle collision between three vehicles caused a road to be partially blocked and left five people with minor injuries.

Emergency services were called to the A1156 at Nacton at 3.26pm today, where the crash took place.

Five people suffered minor injuries in the collision, two of which were taken to Ipswich Hospital for further treatment.

A police spokeswoman said that the incident had involved two vans and a Ford Fiesta.

The road was partially blocked in both directions but was cleared just after 7pm.

A collision on the A14 at Woolpit also caused rush-hour delays after two cars crashed shortly after 5.20pm.

No one is believed to have been injured in the collision on the eastbound carriageway.
