IPSWICH Town boss Roy Keane was dealt a blow this afternoon with the news that Sunderland have recalled Jack Colback from his loan spell at Ipswich Town.
But there was at least some good news, ahead of this Sunday’s trip to Chelsea, with Tottenham giving clearance for Jake Livermore to play for Town at Stamford Bridge.
Colback had been a regular in Keane’s team, since his return to Portman Road for a second loan spell in early October.
But the Irishman had intimated during last week’s press conference that Colback wanted a permanent deal, rather than an extension to his loan spell in Suffolk.
At least Livermore’s clearance to play at Chelsea eases Keane’s midfield worries. Grant Leadbitter is suspended and Luke Hyam has been sidelined for a couple of months with a hamstring injury, while Colback will be sorely missed.
