AN ELDERLY man crashed his car into a shop in Ipswich, hitting a ladder and forcing a man to jump to safety.
The accident happened at around 3pm in Sidegate Lane West yesterday, close to the junction with Colchester Road, outside a row of shops.
A red VW Polo, driven by a 92-year-old man, hit another car before mounting the pavement and crashing into a shop, which was being refurbished.
It is understood a witness saw the car hit a ladder, forcing the man to jump to safety.
Police officers joined paramedics at the scene. A spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service said the man was checked over and was shaken but injured.
