SUFFOLK Coastal MP Dr Therese Coffey has claimed almost 15,000 in expenses since she was elected to the House of Commons in May.
Her claim of 14,912.91 is by a considerable amount the largest of any of the county’s MPs – but much of it is eaten up with staff costs.
She claimed a total of almost 6,000 in staff costs, and another 2,500 in computer expenses to get her offices set up.
West Suffolk MP Matthew Hancock claimed 7,784 (including 3,877.50 in staff costs) while Waveney MP Peter Aldous claimed 7,626.94 (including 3,877.50 in staff costs).
Central Suffolk and North Ipswich MP Dr Daniel Poulter claimed 3,106.58 and South Suffolk MP Tim Yeo claimed 3,544. Neither included the cost of staff.
Ipswich MP Ben Gummer and Bury St Edmunds MP David Ruffley, who was ill during much of the claiming period from May to September, have not yet had any claims registered with the Independents Parliamentary Standards Authority which published the figures.
