DRIVERS are experiencing treacherous conditions across Suffolk and Essex this morning as a thick blanket of snow causes havoc on the roads.
The A12 in Colchester has been particularly badly affected, with treacherous conditions in both directions between Ardleigh, at junction 29 with the A1232, and the Marks Tey interchange in Copford Green, junction 25.
Police are warning residents not to venture out in the difficult conditions unless absolutely necessary.
If journeys are urgent and essential, police have asked drivers to ensure they take the appropriate cautions - to drive with the utmost care and ensure they have food and drink with them in case of an emergency.
