ROY Keane admitted that tonight’s Ipswich Town PLC AGM could be has last, as Town boss.

However, Keane embraced all the questions that were asked of him from shareholders, and in fact enjoyed a relatively easy ride during the meeting, which was held in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite at Portman Road.

The team’s poor run of form, style of play, the lack of entertainment and the reliance on young loanee players were all subjects broached from the floor.

And asked whether this could his last Town PLC AGM, Keane replied honestly and with wit: “It could be, possibly so, yes, but then it might be your last as well!” said Keane wryly.

“The owner offered me a three-year contract to start with, but I said “No”, me being me I said that I just wanted two years.

“I always set myself high standards and I set the bar very high,” added Keane.

The Irishman enjoyed the full backing of Chief Executive Simon Clegg during tonight’s meeting.

Clegg said: “The owner and myself are joined at the hip in the issue of Roy Keane. There is no time scale and no line drawn in the sand.”

Clegg also confirmed that the club had received no concrete offer for Town star Connor Wickham, despite all the recent speculation surrounding Liverpool’s reported 10m bid.
