Driving conditions are getting back to normal after a serious fuel leak from a four-wheel-drive car made the road surface extremely dangerous.
A Land Rover Discovery broke down after leaving a slick of fuel spread across the A143 and A134 near Lavenham.
The leak posed a potential hazard to other motorists already contending with wet surfaces following early morning rainfall.
Police called in the Highways Agency to deal with the spill, and the road was cleared within approximately two hours.
The road remained open throughout.
