IPSWICH buses has today revealed that it will not increase fares this year.
Malcolm Robson, managing director of the council owned bus company, said that this was in attempt to provide town residents with high quality value for money bus services.
He added: βAt the present with the proliferation of cheap car parks around Ipswich, we appreciate it would be a negative move for our fares to increase, whilst everybody seeks to tighten their belts and looks for the cheapest and most cost effective ways to make their journeys.
βA combination of passenger growth in and around Ipswich, along with cost tightening, means out company can afford to hold fares at their present level for the remainder of 2010.β
