A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of starting a fire with intent to endanger life, following a house fire last month.
Police launched an investigation after a cigarette was put through the letterbox at a house in Castle Lane Haverhill on October 7.
The owners – a couple in their sixties – smelled burning and put out the fire by stamping on the mat.
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicon of causing the fire.
He has been released on police bail and will have to return to Bury St Edmunds police station on December 22.
