THE quick action of fire fighters stopped a blaze spreading into two Blaxhall homes this afternoon.
Crews were called to Old Post Office Lane around 4pm to tackle a fire in outbuildings at the front of two semi-detached homes.
The fire - believed to have been caused by an electrical fault - destroyed the majority of the building’s roof and one of its rooms.
Home owner David Carrington, who was out at the time of the fire, said: “It’s a hell of nuisance.”
He said the prompt action of fire fighters prevented it spreading into his property.
“It could have been a lot worse, the whole house would have gone up,” he added.
Ian Bowell, group manager at Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, said: “It’s not believed to be suspicious but the investigation is ongoing.”
Three appliances, from Woodbridge, Orford and Leiston, attended the blaze, which was brought under control shortly after 5pm
