DRIVERS on the A14 near Ipswich were facing delays this morning after a car fire on the road.
Firefighters were called to a stretch of the westbound carriageway between junction 52 at Claydon and junction 51 at Beacon Hill at 6.43am.
One fire engine from Needham Market and one from Colchester Road attended the incident.
On arrival crews found one car which appeared to be on fire. However, crews discovered that steam coming from the vehicle was being caused by an overheated engine.
As a result of the incident one lane of the westbound A14 carriageway was blocked before junction 51 and this resulted in slow moving traffic.
The road has since been cleared.
