FUNDRAISERS have vowed to “make it a million” after the success of their 11th annual breast cancer walk.
The volunteers from Suffolk Breakthrough Breast Cancer joined them for their pink walk yesterday, each choosing to trek either four, eight or 13 miles around coastal towns in Suffolk yesterday.
The walk began at Thorpeness Country Club and strolled along the coast to Aldeburgh, then up to Aldringham and out to Sizewell before returning to the club for lunch and a raffle.
Congratulating the women on their daring pink costumes, organiser Ollie Hatcher said: “It has been the pinkest walk we have ever had.”
Mrs Hatcher, of Woodbridge, said: “We have made around 7,000 to add to the 520,000 already raised, but the team are not stopping there.
“We have reached the half a million pound mark, now we are going to make it a million.”
- See tomorrow’s East Anglian Daily Times for a full interview and more coverage of the walk.
