A MAN and a woman were left trapped in their car after a crash on the A12 in Essex.
Their blue Renault car is believed to have collided with a foreign-registered lorry on the northbound carriageway between junctions 25 and 26, near Marks Tey.
The accident happened at 7.45pm today and passing motorists contacted police to report seeing smoke coming from the front of the car.
Two crews from Colchester and a third from Tiptree were in attendance and worked to cut the pair, both believed to be in theur 20s, free from the wreckage.
s released by around 8.40pm and taken to hospital.
The man had neck injuries and a police spokesman said the woman was not believed to be suffering from life threatening injuries.
