SCUNTHORPE’S Jerran Hart has been ruled out for the rest of the season after a crash at Redcar on Thursday.
The Scorpions’ teenage reserve was involved in a collision with Charles Wright and sustained a broken wrist with further x-rays required to determine the extent of leg injuries.
The news is also a blow to National League title holders Bournemouth, who had recently brought Hart back into their team in their bid to defend the championship.
Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Jerran was desperately unlucky to be involved in that accident and obviously we hope that he is soon sorted out, able to go home and we wish him a speedy recovery.
“We were also unlucky to lose the meeting. The referee’s decisions didn’t go our way tonight and with an even rub of the green I think we’d have got the victory we needed.”
