SUFFOLK: Vintage vehicle enthusiasts turned out in their droves to support a popular annual event at one of Suffolk’s stately homes.
The 2010 Festival of Classics and Sports Cars was held on Sunday at Helmingham Hall, just north of Ipswich.
People turned out in force to support the event, which was held at the home of Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, Lord Tollemache and was raising money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Hundreds of classic cars were on display spanning more than ten decades - from Rolls Royces and Austins through to Bentleys and Cadillacs.
There was also other entertainment including a brass band, Samba dancers and a birds of prey display.
The event was held in association with the Suffolk Vehicle Enthusiasts Club (SVEC).
Chairman and events co-ordinator John Grew said: “It was a very good day. The weather warmed up for us towards the end of the afternoon and everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun.
“I’m not sure how much money has been raised because its still being counted up but hopefully we will have done EACH proud.”
