A 42-year-old man has been taken to hospital after a car crash this evening.
The crash happened shortly before 6pm at the junction of the A1017 and A1307 at Barnsley Farm in Withersfield, known locally as the Sainsbury’s roundabout.
The driver of one of the vehicles, a red Honda Civic from Haverhill, had head injuries and was badly concussed, although the injuries were not life threatening. He was transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for treatment.
The passengers and the driver of the other car, a silver Ford Mondeo, were not hurt.
The road was closed for two hours while emergency services attended the scene and vehicles were recovered.
