SCHOOLS hoping for major rebuilding projects were today bracing themselves for the worst possible news as the government prepares to slash the Building Schools for the Future programme.
Education secretary Michael Gove is expected to make an announcement freezing almost 3.5 billion of proposed new spending tomorrow.
That will cause worry in Felixstowe, where a new building is due to replace Orwell and Deben High schools, and in Ipswich where Chantry, Holywells, and Westbourne Sports College are due to be rebuilt.
