RAFAEL Bentitez has rubbished reports he is set to call time on his managerial reign at Liverpool to become coach of the United Arab Emirates.

Speculation has been rife that the Spaniard could be prepared to leave Anfield amid growing financial concerns but he insists he is looking to remain at the club and right the wrongs of last season and is not interested in a move elsewhere.

“I was very surprised to read about this story (being offered the UAE coaching job) but it seems more and more as if they keep happening from somewhere,” Benitez told the Liverpool Echo.

“I am very happy here in Liverpool. I have always been happy and I want to stay here for a long time - if it is possible.”
