GREEN-fingered residents are being urged to pick up their trowels and get to work on their patch of land ahead of Bury St Edmunds’ annual garden competition.
Entries are being taken for Bury in Bloom, which has eight categories for gardeners to compete in.
Backed by the EADT and the Bury Mercury, this year’s competition is a part of the town’s bid to beat rivals from across the UK to the coveted title of best floral town in Britain 2010.
There are community, residential, business, neighbourhood and allotment categories.
Entry forms must be submitted by June 21. Forms are available in the EADT and Bury St Edmunds Mercury and can also be downloaded from the EADT website.
