OUR region’s marathon runners could be in for a sticky Sunday as weekend temperatures are expected to soar.
The mercury is expected to reach 21C in the South East and London tomorrow and on Sunday, when thousands of runners will take part in the Virgin London Marathon.
On Sunday it will feel more humid as a band of cloud pushes east across the country, bringing showers and some longer spells of rain.
Marathon runners can expect muggy but dry conditions at the start of the race, although late finishers could be caught out by the odd shower.
The sunshine will return to most places by Tuesday with forecasters predicting a warm start to next week.
