AN overturned caravan being towed by a Land Rover Discovery caused traffic chaos in the Stowmarket area after it jacknifed on the A14 around 2.20 yesterday afternoon.
Traffic began to build up after the inside lane of the westbound carriageway was blocked between junctions 49 and 50 before the site was cleared at 4.30pm.
Fears of rush-hour chaos were raised after a smash outside the Novotel Hotel in Bridge Street, Ipswich at 4.15pm yesterday.
Traffic warnings were put out after a car and a lorry crashed at the double roundabout just as the weekend rush was due to begin.
The vehicles were cleared from the road at 4.45pm.
