In the early hours of Saturday, February 14, a marked Suffolk police car collided with a Mitsubishi Evolution on Tom Crisp Way, Lowestoft.
The Special Constabulary officer has been summonsed following an Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) managed investigation.
The officer is due to appear before Norwich Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
