AN ELDERLY man has been seriously injured after the car he was driving collided with a cottage in a Suffolk village this evening.
AN ELDERLY man has been seriously injured after the car he was driving collided with a cottage in a Suffolk village this evening.
The incident happened at about 9.20pm on the corner of the A1120, The Street in Dennington.
Four fire crews from Framlingham, Stradbroke, Saxmundham and Debenham are currently at the scene.
Firefighters used specialist hydraulic cutting equipment to release the elderly man, who was trapped in his red Citroen Xsara.
The man, who is believed to be on route to Ipswich Hospital, sustained “quite serious” injuries in the collision.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said it is thought his injuries may be “life changing.”
He said: “We are currently still at the scene, there is an issue with regards to moving the vehicle at the moment.”
Ambulance also attended and are conveying the injured man to hospital.
