DETECTIVES are hunting a man who indecently assaulted a teenage girl on the top deck of a bus.
The girl's ordeal began when she got on a bus in Sudbury between 5pm and 5.20pm on Monday. She went onto the top level of the double-decker bus, which was travelling from Sudbury to Ipswich.
Police say a man followed her onto the bus and sat down beside the 16-year-old girl and then groped her for about 20 minutes.
A spokeswoman for the police said: “The man spoke to her and touched her inappropriately several times. She tried to push him away but he remained seated.
“He continued to touch her until she became upset and he moved to another seat. The girl got off the bus in Hadleigh but the man remained on the bus.”
The man is described as having a tanned complexion, 5ft 11in tall, in his 20s with short black hair. He wore a navy jumper with red stripes, baggy beige trousers and black shoes.
He carried a black rucksack and spoke broken English in a foreign accent.
Anybody with information should contact Pc Jeremy Cohen at Sudbury police on 01284 774100 on 01284 774100 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
