AN appeal for information has been made following a distraction burglary in Ipswich.
The incident took place at around 4.45pm on Monday in Glencoe Road.
A man called at the house of a woman in her 80s claiming electrical problems had been reported in the area and he needed to carry out checks.
The man requested that the woman switch a socket on in the kitchen and count to 20. He asked the woman to do this twice while he checked around the rest of the property. During this time a quantity of cash was stolen.
After around 45 minutes the man left and walked in the direction of Dumbarton Road.
The man was white, in his 50s, around 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins, with dark hair and of large build.
He was wearing a light, short-sleeved shirt and dark trousers. He was also carrying a blue A4 notebook, a black briefcase and presented a cream/yellow credit card sized card upon arrival.
