FORMER Ipswich Town hotshot Darren Bent's unsuccessful stint at Tottenham seems to have ended last night after he left a China-bound plane packed with teammates and headed for Sunderland.
The England striker, who signed for Spurs for 16.5m in June 2007, was reportedly already in his seat on the plane for a pre-season trip when he received word that a proposed 15m move to the Black Cats was back on.
He left the plane after his bags were retrieved from the hold and set off for talks with Sunderland boss Steve Bruce.
The news came after Spurs signed lanky hitman Peter Crouch from Portsmouth for 13m.
