LECTURERS today picketed in protest against Suffolk College's failure to honour a pay deal agreed more than four years ago.
Members of the University and College Union (UCU) made their feelings clear outside the college by displaying placards and distributing literature to students and colleagues.
The strike led to a number of classes being cancelled but the college remained open.
Picket lines were set up outside the college's main entrances in Rope Walk and Back Hamlet from around 8am this morning.
The UCU say its members are striking because of the college's failure to honour a national pay deal agreed more than four years ago, which should have increased mid-ranking further education lecturer earnings by 4,511 a year.
