LEIGH Adams has conceded that his World title hopes are over for 2009.

Adams failed to make the semi-finals at Copenhagen last weekend, and is down in ninth place overall after four rounds on 28 points - 46 behind fellow Aussie and GP leader Jason Crump.

Adams said: "The championship's gone, it's over for me. I had to be on top of the box in Denmark to have any chance of getting back in the hunt.

"We have to forget about points and placings now and just try and get back to where we were.

"I enjoyed last Saturday night, but it is just not working for me right now. The series is so cut and thrust, everyone's on the pace and if you are just a little bit off the button, it crucifies you.

"But we'll keep battling away and I am looking forward to Cardiff - it is always a good event."

Adams was runner-up in the World Championship in 2007, and has not finished out of the top six in any of the last nine seasons.
