A MAN suffered facial injuries after he was attacked when he asked a gang of “rowdy” youths to quieten down.

A MAN suffered facial injuries after he was attacked when he asked a gang of “rowdy” youths to quieten down.

The victim, who has not been named, went up to the group in the Guineas Shopping Centre in Newmarket last night when the assault took place.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said: “The man approached a group of youths who he felt were being rowdy and asked them to quieten down.

“One male youth assaulted him and he walked away to Fred Archer Way. He suffered minor facial injuries.”

The alleged attacker has been described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build and wearing a hat and white t-shirt.
