Middlesbrough front man Marlon King appeared briefly at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court in London.
The 28-year-old, of Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, is alleged to have sexually assaulted and punched a 20-year-old woman in central London club the Soho Revue bar.
The case was adjourned to London's Southwark Crown Court on May 14 and King was granted bail until that date.
