COASTGUARDS searching for a windsurfer following a possible sighting have declared it was a false alarm.
A member of the public alerted Thames Coastguard earlier today after they believed they spotted a windsurfer in trouble off the coast of Aldeburgh.
The Aldeburgh Lifeboat carried out a thorough search of the area but found nothing and declared the incident a false alarm. A spokesman said they believe it may have been a buoy that was mistaken for a windsurfer.
