A WOMAN found dead in the River Lark has been named as an 89-year-old local woman.
Police were called to the river, off Eastgate Street, in Bury St Edmunds, at about 8.20am on January 18 when a member of the public saw a body.
She has now been named as Lilian Stephens of Cryspen Court, Bury.
The area, a popular place for dog walkers, was sealed off while a police investigation was launched. Officers have ruled out any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
