ED Upson has joined League One Southend on trial and scored twice for a Shrimpers XI in a 2-2 draw at Canvey Island last night.
Upson, who netted the winning goal in the 2005 FA Youth Cup final, is out of contract at the end of the season and is set to leave the Blues.
A Town reserve side beat West Ham 1-0 in a friendly at Playford Road yesterday with Dan Harding scoring the only goal in the 70th minute. Dubliner Ian McLoughlin, 17, took over in goal from Shane Supple in the second half.
