Morsley, in charge of Needham Market, has won the Ryman Premier Division Manager of the Month accolade, while Chenery, head coach of Bury Town, has won the same award for the Ryman North Division.

After a largely difficult spell in their first ever campaign in the Premier Division, Needham have had a November to remember as excellent results and performances have seen them climb out of the relegation zone.

Michael Brothers’ brace in a 2-1 home win over previously flying Tonbridge Angels was the catalyst, as wins over Hendon (2-0 away), East Thurrock United (2-1 away), and Brentwood Town (4-0 at home) followed.

The Marketmen also drew 1-1 at Farnborough in this run, and defeated Walsham le Willows 2-0 in the Suffolk Premier Cup, and therefore go into Saturday’s game against league-leaders Dulwich Hamlet unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions.

Bury Town, meanwhile, have also had a memorable month.

After convincing league wins over Barkingside (4-1 at home) and Phoenix Sports (1-0 away), midfielder Craig Nurse sent Ram Meadow delirious by scoring a last-gasp equaliser against Herne Bay (1-1), and as a goalkeeper after Neil O’Sullivan received red late on!

In the replay on the Kent coast, more drama was to follow as Bury defeated their opponents on penalties, with skipper Phil Weavers netting the decisive spot-kick.

A hard-fought win over Waltham Abbey (1-0 away) followed just days later, before the Blues kept their crown of being the ‘penalty kings’ after defeating Felixstowe & Walton United on spot-kicks after an absorbing Suffolk Premier Cup quarter-final that finished 3-3, with Bury 3-0 up after 29 minutes.

And, just last weekend, Bury progressed into the First Round Proper of the FA Trophy, with a fine 4-2 home win over Thurrock toset up a home tie to Dulwich Hamlet, in the next round, on December 12.

Bury, fifth place in the Ryman North, travel to AFC Hornchurch on Saturday.

As well as being kitted out for new suits at Nicholas Rowe Tailoring’s 7000 sq ft Suit City in Redhill, Morsley and Chenery will be presented with inscribed glass trophies from Macron to record their achievements at upcoming fixtures.

Ironically, Herne Bay’s boss Sam Denly won the Ryman South Division accolade.
