A man and woman who offered prostitutes through an Ipswich-based escort agency are due to be sentenced today.

Pimp Stuart Mansfield, of Nelson Road, Ipswich, ran Anglian Escorts.com from his home address.

The 36-year-old offered clients the opportunity to meet women across East Anglia.

Mansfield is also due to be sentenced for two counts of paying, or promising to pay, for sexual services.

His co-accused Carla Panton, 29, of Heath Road, Wenhaston, near Halesworth, is also scheduled to be in the dock at Ipswich Crown Court.

Mansfield and Panton pleaded guilty to controlling prostitution for gain at a hearing before the crown court on April 25.

The offence took place over a period of nearly four years.

Previously Mansfield had appeared before Ipswich magistrates where he admitted paying for sex.

The pair have pleaded not guilty to other charges, including money laundering. These will be left to lay on file.

However, following their sentencing there is expected to be a subsequent proceeds of crime hearing to pursue them for the money they made.

Anglian Escorts.com is understood to have claimed in newspapers adverts and on social media that it could supply women for company in Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire.

They provided women for prostitution between December 31, 2008, and September 20, 2012.

Suffolk Constabulary’s Gemini Team, which deals with sexual offence matters, carried out an investigation which resulted in Mansfield and Panton being charged last December.

The pair made their first court appearance before South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Ipswich in January.

After pleading guilty in April Mansfield was released on conditional bail, while Panton was released on unconditional bail. They are due to be sentenced this afternoon.
