Suffolk superstar Ed Sheeran has announced he will be releasing a new album next year as he was spotted recording a new music video at a Suffolk beach.

The Shape of You singer revealed on social media that he has been shooting a brand new music video to go alongside his new album.

Posting on Instagram Sheeran said: "Shivers has hit a billion streams on Spotify, which makes it 11th as an artist and 15th as a writer.

"I am over the moon about it and thank you everyone who has been streaming that song.

"I am going to be celebrating by shooting a music video for my brand new album which will be out next year."

The global star was seen "shooting a music video" on north Lowestoft beach on Wednesday.

The music video was being filmed close to the groynes and dunes near the Gunton Warren Nature Reserve in Lowestoft.

The Bad Habits singer was sitting on a piece of driftwood, surrounded by a production crew, security and extras for the filming - against the backdrop of early morning dog walkers and a handful of people.

Sheeran has been spotted with film crews in a number of locations in Suffolk this month.

The Framlingham-based singer was seen dining at the Wilford Bridge pub in Melton near Woobridge on October 27.

Film crews were also spotted outside the Butt and Oyster pub in Pin Hill in October.

Sheeran also performed an impromptu gig on the steps of Ipswich town Hall on October 7 which saw hundreds of people flock to the town centre to get a glimpse of the global superstar. Film crews were spotted amongst the crowd.

Before playing his final song, Ed took the guitar he'd been playing with and gifted it to ten-year-old Arthur Baggett in the crowd.

After his fifth studio album = ("Equals") was released in October last year, his next LP/album has been rumoured nationally to apparently be called - ("Subtract").

A spokesman for Screen Suffolk - the official film office for Suffolk, representing all county, district and borough councils - said they and East Suffolk Council were "not able to comment" on the production.
