Allie Green, from Granary Nursery, said: "We are on top of the world.

"It is an amazing feeling, the staff are absolutely thrilled and our families are really pleased.

"It's the fruits of a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment and we've got to where we are with the families' support and I have such a steady team who work amazingly together to pull this off."

The staff at the nursery were praised throughout the report saying they feel "valued at work and are committed to their professional development".

Granary Nursery was last inspected in 2016 where it was rated 'Good'.

Mrs Green continued: "This is something that we have obviously always strived for.

"We came very close last time and it was a disappointment so this is really nice.

"We have the same set of staff that I had at the previous inspection and it is really nice for families to see the progress because often we get families that have had three or four children come through."

The inspectors also noticed the partnership between the nursery and parents was 'outstanding'.

It said that "parents know their children are happy, safe and well cared for at nursery".

Mrs Green added: "This is not where the hard work ends, we have to work equally as hard, if not harder to maintain it.

"But for now, we are ready to shout this result from the rooftop."
