Two men have been charged with drug offences after police seized mobile phones and cash from homes in west Suffolk.

Police conducted two warrants on properties in Newmarket on Tuesday this week.

The first was in Bill Rickaby Drive, where mobile phones, a quantity of cash, paraphernalia associated with drugs supply and a samurai sword were recovered.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and was taken to Bury St Edmunds police investigation centre for questioning.

A 20-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis.

He was also taken to Bury St Edmunds police investigation centre for questioning before he was released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

The second warrant was conducted in Willow Crescent, where a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Soren Price, 21 and of Bill Rickaby Drive, Newmarket, was charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, namely crack cocaine and heroin.

Vinnie Whittred, 19 and of Willow Crescent, Newmarket, was charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, namely crack cocaine and heroin.

The pair appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and were remanded to appear before Ipswich Crown Court on Wednesday, December 7.
