A former Suffolk student says there is "still more to come" after appearing in a hit West End show.

Maddy Salter has been appearing on the Vaudeville Theatre on The Strand in 'Six', the musical based on the wives of Henry VIII.

The 20-year-old, originally from Saxmundham, went back to her old college, One Suffolk Sixth Form, to chat with performing arts and music students ahead of their production of the show, the first live production since lockdown.

Maddy now studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and was spotted to appear in the show, through social media.

She said: "Whilst on my degree, the current guitarist on Six followed me on Instagram, saw what I can do and messaged me and asked if I fancied deputising on the show if she was unable to do it.

"I was nervous about my first night but it was such a great experience."

Maddy has now appeared around 30 times, and says there is "still more to come".

She has gone on to record guitar and backing vocals for award-winning artist Dodie, and said: "Coming from Suffolk, I'd love to play for artists as big as Ed Sheeran one day."
