The panel for the BBC Question Time episode which is being filmed in Suffolk has been announced.

The lively topical debate show, which is hosted by Fiona Bruce, will be coming to Snape, near Aldeburgh, this evening (November 17).

Alongside Bruce and a live studio audience will be the SNP leader in Westminster Ian Blackford, Conservative MP Victoria Atkins, shadow secretary of state for work and pensions Jonathan Ashworth, economics editor at The Spectator Kate Andrews, and former politician Sir Trevor Phillips.

The episode, which airs at 10.40pm this evening, comes after the autumn budget which saw Jeremy Hunt announce a new devolution deal that will bring an elected mayor to Suffolk

The chancellor also announced the government will sign the initial investment contracts for Sizewell C within weeks.

He said: “There is only one way to stop ourselves being at the mercy of international gas prices: energy independence combined with energy efficiency."

Mr Hunt said “Britain is a global leader in renewable energy” but insisted “we need to go further, with a major acceleration of home-grown technologies like offshore wind, carbon capture and storage, and, above all, nuclear”.

The show has previously been filmed in Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich, where the former Labour leader, Ed Miliband, was among the guests.
