From perfect roasties to tasty meats, these two Suffolk pubs know how to serve a great Sunday lunch.

The Cock Horse Inn in Lavenham and The Brewers in Rattlesden have been named two of the best places in the country to get a roast dinner by lifestyle magazine Muddy Stilettos.

East Anglian Daily Times:

The Cock Horse Inn, which was recently crowned Suffolk Pub of the Year, was listed as one of the best places for a roast dinner for its seasonal and local ingredients.

Describing the roast dinner at the Lavenham pub, Muddy Stilettos said: "There are plenty of dishes to choose from, including a traditional roast sirloin of beef, a black treacle cured pork loin, free range chicken, orange and honey roast gammon, and a trio of meats for any indecisive types.

"Plus, for veggies there’s a butternut squash Wellington with all the trimmings and the pub caters for vegans and dairy- and gluten-free diets."

The pub has a team of just under 25 people working from the kitchen to the front of house to create the perfect atmosphere for customers.

The Brewers, in west Suffolk, which was also named as having one of the best beer gardens in the UK, was also praised for its "generous and gourmet" Sunday roast.

In a review, Muddy Stilettos said: "The Brewers proudly sources a huge amount of its ingredients from local indie suppliers and then the talented chefs turn this Suffolk produce into traditional, but refined pub classics.

"Think roast sirloin of beef with hermitage carrots, bacon savoy cabbage, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire pudding or pork tenderloin with turnip puree, black cabbage, pork croquette, and pickled girolles.

"Plus, this gorgeous country pub is well known for its incredible desserts, so whatever you do, don’t politely turn down the pudding menu."
